Why is there no colour in the wax?

We intentionally leave our wax undyed. Each candle is hand-poured using a premium blend of soy, beeswax, and coconut wax. Its natural ivory tone comes from the waxes themselves, with the beeswax occasionally lending a soft cream or pale yellow hue. Because we don't use added dyes, slight variations in colour from one candle to another are completely natural and part of the handmade process.

Is the ceramic vessel reusable?

Yes. Every Aanché ceramic vessel is designed to be kept long after the candle has burned. The vessel is designed to outlast the candle. Once the wax is fully used, clean it with warm water. Do not use abrasive cleaners or metal utensils to scrape residual wax — warm water will loosen it.

How long do the candles burn?

Accepted Answer

Killing It — up to 35 hours (three wicks). Too Much — up to 30 hours (two wicks).Actual burn time depends on wick trimming, burn duration per session, and environmental conditions. Burning in drafty areas, burning for sessions longer than 4 hours, or not trimming the wick will reduce total burn time. These are tested estimates, not guarantees.

Are the candles safe to use indoors?

Yes. Our natural wax blends — soy, beeswax, and coconut wax — are clean-burning, non-toxic, and produce minimal soot when wicks are properly trimmed. ECO cotton wicks are designed for low-soot performance.However, as with all open-flame products, candles must be used responsibly.

How should I burn the candle the first time?

Accepted Answer

The first burn is the most important. Let the wax melt all the way to the edges of the vessel before you extinguish it. This is called setting the candle's memory. If you blow it out too early, the candle will tunnel on every subsequent burn — meaning the wax only melts in a narrow circle around the wick and the rest is wasted.For Killing It (3 wicks, wide plate): budget 2 to 3 hours for the first burn. For Too Much (2 wicks, cylindrical vessel): budget 1.5 to 2.5 hours for the first burn.

How do I trim the wick?

Accepted Answer

Cut the wick to 5mm above the wax surface before every burn. Not after — before. Use a wick trimmer or a pair of scissors. Remove the trimmed wick debris from the wax pool before lighting.
Untrimmed wicks produce larger, unstable flames, increased soot, faster wax consumption, and shorter burn life. This is the single most important maintenance step.

Question 10

How long should I burn the candle each time?

Accepted Answer

Never more than 4 hours at a time. Allow the candle to cool completely and the wax to re-solidify before relighting.
Burning for longer than 4 hours can cause the wick to mushroom, the flame to grow too large, the ceramic vessel to overheat, and excessive soot production.

When should I stop burning the candle?

Accepted Answer

When approximately 10mm (1 cm) of wax remains at the bottom of the vessel. Burning past this point risks overheating the ceramic base, which can damage the surface underneath the vessel and, in extreme cases, crack the ceramic.

Where should I place the candle?

Accepted Answer

On a stable, flat, heat-resistant surface. Never on a glass table without a coaster or heat pad underneath. Away from drafts, open windows, fans, and air conditioning vents — airflow causes uneven burning and excessive flickering. Away from curtains, books, paper, and any flammable materials. Out of reach of children and pets. Never on the edge of a surface where it could be knocked over.

Can I move the candle while it's burning?

Accepted Answer

No. Never move a lit candle. The liquid wax pool is hot and can spill, causing burns or damage. The ceramic vessel will be hot to the touch. Wait until the candle is fully extinguished and the wax has cooled and re-solidified before moving it.

Is the ceramic safe to handle after burning?

Accepted Answer

The ceramic vessel will be warm to hot during and immediately after burning. Allow at least 30 minutes after extinguishing before handling. The vessel base can leave heat marks on sensitive surfaces — always use a coaster or heat pad underneath.

My candle arrived with the wax slightly separated from the vessel wall.

Accepted Answer

Temperature changes during transit can cause natural wax contraction, leading to minor gaps between the wax and the ceramic wall. This does not affect burn quality. On your first burn, the wax will re-melt to the edges and re-adhere to the ceramic.
